Lavanttal’s culinary

In the valley, the culinary offer is very special and superb: regional characteristics and specialties are offered at the local farmers’ market. Our farmer products have won awards at international tasting competitions and are available in various retail stores.

Restaurants and guesthouses offer delicious food like the typical Austrian cuisine, hearty Austrian meals or gastronomic specialties. The ‘Buschenschenken’ offer wine, cider or softdrinks and ‘Hausmannskost’ (plain fare).

The farmers’ markets offer typical home-made products. The offering ranges from local fish (Kaiserforelle) to the typical Lavanttal’s cheese, just to name a few. The catering service of the local farms,  restaurants and the "Lavanttaler Qualitätsbauern"  is also very popular.
