Hikers will enjoy the Lavanttal for sure

More than 500 km marked and family friendly hiking paths lure onto the airy heights up to 2100 m above sea level in Carinthia’s southernmost region.
The Koralpe’s and Saualpe’s hillsides offer a good starting point for numerous mountain tours and circular walking routes. It is possible to explore this charming hiking area without much effort and mountaineering skills.

Another special offer is the Lavanttal’s heights walk (about 135 km) which leads on top of the peaks of the Koralpe and the Saualpe. Along the routes one can enjoy rustically mountain cabins, flowers, fungi and even quartz.

Along the Koralm Kristall Trail (120 km long) one comes across the Koralpe’s geological, historical and natural features.

Further special hiking offers are the ‘cider hiking tours’ in St. Georgen and Granitztal - thousands of flowering orchard trees in autumn, fresh juicy fruits in summer, sweet harvest in autumn… for supper one can choose between juice, cider or even fruit schnaps. Who doesn’t want to hike along the cider paths to the different ‘Buschenschenken’ can take the ‘ciderland express’.

In the Paracelsus’ region ‘Upper Lavanttal’, marked ‘spring hiking paths’ lead to numerous nature attractions and historical sights. Springs and wells, all times clouded in secrecy, are thought of having secret healing powers. They are the most important stations of this illuminating and healthful expedition.
