The Lavanttal is situated close to the university locations Graz, Klagenfurt and Leoben and offers comprehensive schools, secondary schools and vocational schools.

Lavanttal’s economic and industrial axis goes from Bad St. Leonhard across Frantschach, Wolfsberg, St. Andrä to St. Paul.

Wolfsberg’s district possesses numerous companies and establishments of different industrial sectors. Smaller undertakings cooperate together to bundle their powers and to organize a united appearance on the market (for example the Lavanttal’s carpenter community).
